freebies to the public in order to secure power to the family of the Present Chief Minister at Public cost and has contracted huge amounts of loans for the purpose .the burden of the loans and the interest thereon falls on the public and not on the family of the chief minister or the political party he owns .(It is another story that the politicians can gain a lot of money in the process of procuring and distributing the freebies while the burden of the debt accumulates on the back of the ordinary citizens)).Is it not a fit case for a Public Interest litigation since the expenditure on the policy of freebies has resulted in huge loans being piled on the tax payer and not met from any surplus revenue of the state.Ithink that since the burden of the state loans falls on the people while it is intended to bribe some sections of the people in order to firmly establish a political party in power at the cost of the tax payer it might be unlawful and a fit case for public interest litigation. What do you people think of this ?
Anantha , It is not only cable connection business , It may fetch a lot through commission on the purchase also which No politician ever would like to loose.
The main and immediate incentive for politicians is the gain that could be made made on the purchase of materials .all projects of large scale expenditure are a good source of income fo them. .they always target the poor people so that if some one criticize their schemes they can incite the sentiment of the masses saying that the opponents are against the welfare of the poor people .This is the reason most of the political parties keep their mouth shut when the ruling parties implement schemes with a sole aim of raking in a sizable commission.
Economy of Tamil Nadu is in shambles.Ministers of present Government have swindled crores of rupees in the name of freebies.Through distribution of colour TVs, family of the Chief Minister is earning a lot by their cable connection business.
